Freight changes the trade

Scroll

Through Navi Merchants, Copenhagen Merchants Group provides dry bulk shipping and chartering across agricultural and bulk commodity markets, connecting cargo, vessels, timing and routes.

Shipping starts with understanding the cargo

Navi Merchants grew out of Copenhagen Merchants’ close involvement in commodity markets and physical trade. That matters because freight decisions are rarely separate from the cargo.

Commodity, timing, ports, routes and vessel availability all shape the commercial outcome. We approach dry bulk shipping with that wider picture in mind.

Cargo. Vessel. Timing. Route.

The essentials

Dry bulk shipping is about getting those four things to work together. Navi Merchants works close to both cargo and tonnage to build freight solutions that make commercial and operational sense.

Chartering

Matching cargo, vessels, timing and routes across dry bulk markets.

Contracts of affreightment

Building freight solutions around recurring cargo flows and longer-term requirements.

Vessel operations

Coordinating the practical execution around vessels, cargoes and voyages after fixture.

Flexible tonnage

Combining owned and chartered vessels to match different cargoes, trades and market requirements.

Project cargo

Providing freight solutions for cargoes that require something beyond a standard dry bulk movement.

Tonnage

The right vessel changes the equation

Navi Merchants combines owned vessels, chartered tonnage and participation in a wider fleet consortium. That gives us flexibility across vessel sizes and helps us match different cargoes, routes and freight requirements.

We are also investing in six new multi-purpose vessels, adding a new generation of flexible and efficient tonnage to our own fleet.

Cargoes & trades

What we move. Where we move it.

Navi Merchants’ core is dry bulk freight for agricultural products and biomass, complemented by other bulk and project cargoes.

Our core markets span the Baltic, Continental Europe and the Mediterranean, with international trades extending beyond these regions.

Freight intelligence

Know the freight before the fixture

Within Copenhagen Merchants Group, CM Navigator brings freight data closer to the commercial decision. Its freight tools help compare routes, vessel sizes and cargo scenarios, giving traders and charterers a clearer view of freight economics before fixing.

Data does not replace market judgement. It gives it a stronger starting point.
