Ability Test

As part of how we hire, we use an ability test.

It helps us get a clearer picture of how you work with logic, patterns, and problem-solving - and together with the personality test, it gives us a better starting point for the second interview.

It is not something we look at in isolation, and it does not replace dialogue. It is simply one of the tools we use to build a more informed picture.

In total, the three abilikty tests take around 30 minutes to complete.

Why we use it

We use the ability test to look beyond first impressions, polished applications, and strong interview presence.

Some people explain themselves well. Others think sharply in ways that are less visible at first glance. The test helps us see a bit more of how you reason and work your way through unfamiliar tasks.

That matters to us because many roles at Copenhagen Merchants require people who can spot patterns, think clearly, and make good sense of information - sometimes quickly, often with imperfect input.

Verbal Analogies

Understanding relationships between concepts

In this part, you are asked to identify how two words or concepts are related - and apply the same logic to a new pair.

It draws on everyday language and your ability to recognize patterns in how ideas connect.

The focus is not vocabulary on its own, but whether you can see the underlying relationship.

Number series

Identifying patterns in numbers

In this part, you are shown a sequence of numbers and asked to identify the pattern.

You then use that pattern to determine what comes next.

The focus is on recognizing simple numerical relationships and working through them in a structured way.

Working with visual logic

In this part, you are shown shapes or figures that follow a certain pattern.

Your task is to identify the underlying logic and choose the element that completes the sequence.

The focus is on how you work with visual structure and abstract patterns.
